WBO super middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders continues to be a poor role model for boxing, and his words have now earned him a suspension from the British Board of Boxing Control. Last week Saunders posted a work-out video of himself. As he hit a puncing bag, Saunders joked  this is what to do if "your old woman is giving you mouth" and showing how to "hit her on the chin." The British Boxing Board of Control didn't find it funny and issued a one-sentence statement: "The British Boxing Board of Control having considered comments made by Billy Joe Saunders on social media have suspended his boxer’s license pending a hearing under the Board’s misconduct regulation, at a time and venue to be confirmed as soon as possible."

According to the BBC, Saunders explained the incident to Talksport as a "silly mistake" saying "my sense of humour is not everyone's cup of tea."

Saunders recently lost his WBO middleweight title due to a positive PED test, and was recently involved in a coronavirus-related prank that got his friend pulled off an international flight.
