Boxingtalk's Crawford-Khan Predictions

G. Leon: Terence Crawford by TKO in 9 or less. Amir Khan is an excellent fighter who will likely end up in the Hall Of Fame, but he's up against it in this one. I see Crawford taking a few rounds to get humming and Khan having some early success, but by round six, Crawford will have him all figured out and a left hand-right hook combination will put him away before the tenth. I will be surprised (not shocked) if Khan made it to the final bell.

Scott Shaffer: Crawford by KO4. Sorry, I think Khan is well past his prime and has no shot here. He looked terrible in his last fight, in which he labored mightily over twelve rounds against Samuel Vargas. Crawford is superstar in his prime. The only reason I will not predict a TKO1 like my friend Ivan Montiel did below is that Crawford is not overly aggressive in the early rounds, and always intelligently assesses his opponent before extending himself for the stoppage. I think that process takes Crawford three rounds on Saturday and he ends it in four.

Doveed Linder: Crawford by unanimous decision. Because Khan has shown a shaky chin in the past, a lot of people are expecting him to get stopped.  This is Crawford's time and I have no doubt that he'll win, but he likes to break his opponents down, not time them for the one big punch.  Khan can box, and I can see his speed and movement giving Crawford problems early on.  Not to mention, Khan will be in great shape.  But Crawford will figure him out and sweep the fight down the stretch.

Ivan Montiel: Crawford TKO1. No disrespect to Khan but I see Crawford knocking out Khan the same way Briedis Prescott did in 2008. Khan has not performed very well recently, including getting KO'd by Canelo Alvarez in 2016.

Justin Hackman: Crawford TKO10: Boxing is thriving in the post Mayweather-Pacquiao era, thanks to "special" fighters such as Vasyl Lomachenko, Errol Spence, Saul Alvarez, Gennady Golovkin and of course, Crawford, who is arguably the most skilled of them all.  How can you ever pick against a guy like that?  However, in one of my many conversations with trainer Joe Goossen, he made the point that throughout history, all special fighters look unbeatable until they're not.  Great fighters are indeed capable of beating special fighters--for every Shane Mosley, there's a Vernon Forrest.  For every Bernard Hopkins, there's a Jermain Taylor.  For every Mike Tyson, there's an Evander Holyfield.  Could Khan be this man for Terence Crawford?  History has shown us that it's possible.  But more times than not, the special fighters will find a way to beat the great fighter.  If great fighters are poison, then special fighters are the antidote.  Pound-for-pound fighters are not only skilled in their personal offensive and defensive arsenal, they are masters at disarming and nullifying their opponents' strengths, just like an antidote.  Khan's poison will not be enough to hinder Crawford's precision, timing, accuracy and ability to shift styles.  Crawford might very well face adversity especially early in this fight, but it will end with a TKO for Crawford in round ten.
