Cutman thanks Tyson Fury for his generosity

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (pictured) displayed his kindness yet again by reaching out to his cutman, Jorge Capetillo, and helping to ease some of Capetillo's financial burden in light of the coronvirus pandemic. Capetillo was widely praised by many for his work in keeping Fury’s two deep cuts under control during his tense encounter with Swedish challenger Otto Wallin in September 2019. Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) went on to earn a unanimous decision victory over Wallin, setting him up for his blockbuster rematch with then American champion Deontay Wilder, who he stopped sensationally via seventh-round TKO in February.

Capetillo has now revealed the kind gesture that Fury has offered him, and is extremely grateful for the help of the "Gypsy King." Captillo, who is from Mexico, told Sky Sports: “Tyson is still very grateful. When he knew we were locked down because of COVID-19 and my gym was closed, he texted me and said: ‘Is there anything I can do to help?’ He is still taking care of me. He sent me money. I was supposed to be with Jessie Vargas in New York on March 14 but the fight was cancelled and I came home with empty pockets. I was scared, I didn’t know what to do. He knew Jessie’s fight was cancelled. He asked about my family and what he could do. He said: ‘I’ll sort out some money for your family so you can be good’. Such generosity for me and my family. He is a great man, so humble. He had the time to ask how I was doing with my family during this crisis.”
