Bare-knuckle event to use a triangle cage

Press Release

BYB Extreme Fighting Series (BYB), a bare-knuckle fighting promotional company, will use a triangle-shaped ring for its inaugural event, to be held Friday night, April 5th, at Cheyenne Ice & Event Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The cage, known as the Trigon Triangle, will consist of 7' high fences, two beveled corners and a 60-percent tight third corner forming a triangle, totaling 187 square feet - marking the first time a professional bare-knuckles event is held inside a cage. This will also be the first time bare-knuckles fighting and MMA are contested in a cage on the same night.
"When it came time to choose our cage," BYB Extreme co-promoter Mike Vazquez explained, "we decided to go with a triangle, The Trigon. Not only did we want to distinguish ourselves from boxing and MMA, we wanted a cage that that would promote action from start to finish. We've accomplished that because a triangle creates the closest quarters in fighting. We want to leave the results of the fights in the hands of fighters not judges. The idea is to increase confrontation by decreasing and modifying the fight area to provide the most confrontational cage in all combat sports. There's no place to's a real fight."
The show will feature ten professional bare knuckle fights, including some street-fighters from the documentary, 'Dawg Fight', as well as two mixed-martial-arts matches. Fights and other details will soon be announced.
Integrated Sports Media will distribute the show throughout North America, commencing at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT, on cable, satellite and digital pay-per-view, in addition to being live-streamed worldwide on the FITE.TV app and website, for a suggested retail price of $24.95.
BYB Extreme and Lights Out Productions was initially inspired by the Backyard Fights that were held in Miami, featured in the award-winning documentary "Dawg Fight", which debuted in Netflix. Dada 5000, the subject and star of "Dawg Fight", is a BYB Extreme partner who will serve as one of the color commentators.
"The blood, sweat and tears displayed by fighters in 'Dawg Fight' is what initially caught our eye and truly fueled our ambition to create a controlled and organized environment that establishes a platform for the world to witness true BRAWLS," co-promoter Jose Suris added. "The evolution that the fight world has experienced in the last 30 years allowed us to take the best parts of professional combat sports - boxing, kickboxing and mixed-martial-arts - to make BYB Extreme the 'Peoples Choice' for fight fans around the world."
