Lou DiBella: Junior Fa ready, willing and able to fight Joshua on June 1st

UPDATE: Lou DiBella tweeted: "We aren’t in the mix, but this is exactly the attitude I want to see from my fighters. Keep on grinding, Junior. Your time is coming!" As the search continues for a Jarrell replacement continues, undefeated heavyweight Junior Fa is throwing his name into the running, making it crystal clear that he's ready to step in and face Anthony Joshua on June 1st. Fa's promoter Lou DiBella told Boxingtalk, "Junior Fa called me to let me know that he's in camp with Deontay Wilder and he's ready. He's never felt better and he's in a situation where he feels that he's already working with one heavyweight champion and he would have no problem walking into the ring in June. He'd love to do it! I haven't been bothering Eddie (Hearn) with it because I imagine they're looking for somebody that has a higher US profile, but with Junior's undefeated record and his amateur pedigree with the wins over Joseph Parker (who didn't roll over when he fought Joshua), we just want to make it clear that if there is any interest, Junior would be available. I know Junior's chomping at the bit, but I know that his time will come soon enough. We're going to keep him active and his time will come. Junior thinks seven weeks is plenty of time for him to get ready, especially since he's in camp working with Deontay Wilder."

GL: If Fa did wind up getting Joshua, what do you think his chances of winning the fight are?

Lou DiBella: "I'm biased toward Fa. I signed him because I believe he's one of the best heavyweights in the world. I think at his best he's capable of giving Joshua a difficult fight. When you get a chance to fight for the heavyweight championships of the world you take the opportunity. If the chance was presented to Junior, whether or not I thought he was ready at this second, we would jump all over it."

GL: Do you think he's more skilled than Jarrell Miller?

LD: "I think the best of Junior is more skillful than Jarrell Miller, yes.'
