Mexican junior welterweight Omar “Pollo” Aguilar, will have the toughest test of his young career when he faces Venezuela's Carlos “Profeta” Cárdenas next Saturday at the Grand Hotel Tijuana in a Zanfer show that will be broadcast by Azteca, the House of Boxing. Aguilar (19-0, 18 KOs) will face a proven rival veteran in Cárdenas (26-18-1, 16 KOs) who is expected to give rounds to Aguilar, whose record is filed with early KO wins.
Also on the card will be Omar's brother, Rubén Aguilar (10-0, 8 KOs), who is booked for six rounds in the same weight division against Joaquín Aguilar (6-2 3 KOs). Joauquin's last fight was a 2019 win over Rubén Téllez, who entered the ring with a 9-2 record, including seven consecutive victories.
In addition, Joaquín “Sonrisas” Cruz (12-1-2, 2 KOs) will face José Armando Valdés from Mexico City (8-4-1, 3 KOs) over eight rounds at bantamweight.
