MMA star Conor McGregor (0-1 as a professional boxer) raised eyebrows by tweeting that he wil be boxing eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao (pictured). McGregor tweeted: "I’m boxing Manny Pacquiao next in the Middle East. It will be a true honour to have faced two of the greatest boxers of the modern era, afraid of a fight." McGregor famously lost to Floyd Mayweather in 2017, and it is unclear what he meant by "afraid of a fight." Pacquiao (62-7-2) is the WBA welterweight champion, having defeated Keith Thurman in July 2019 for his last fight.
