Torres-Baez headlines August 20 Thompson card

Thompson Boxing anounced its line-up for Saturday, August 20th in Corona, CA. The main event will feature rising lightweight Ruben “Ace” Torres (18-0, 15 KOs), from South Central Los Angeles, who will put it all on the line against Cristian “Guarico” Baez (18-1, 17 KOs) from Venezuela. Torres vs. Baez is a 10-round bout that will headline the properly dubbed “Path To Glory” event.
"Sparks will fly on August 20th," said Torres. "I’m ready to take my career to the next level and a victory against a tough opponent like Baez will help me climb up the rankings. I will like to make a statement in the ring and let the world know that I belong at the top of my weight division."

"I've been waiting for a long time to get in the ring and now it’s time to showcase my talent." said Baez from his training camp in San Jose, CA. "Torres is a good prospect, but I'm hungry and I'm going to give him all he can handle. Don’t be surprised If I knock him out."

In what should be another ‘barn-burner,’ Corona’s own Louie Lopez (11-1-1, 4 KOs) who will be fighting in his backyard, will have his hands full in an eight-rounder against Elias “Ingles” Diaz (11-0, 6 KOs) who hails from National City, Calif.
