WBA lets Big Baby off lightly

In a written resolution dated April 26th, the WBA ruled that heavyweight Jarrell Miller would be barred from participating in WBA-sanctioned fights for just six months.  The resolution was based on two failed drug tests by Miller-- one for  GW1516 metaboites and one for exorbitant levels of human growth hormone (HGH). The tests were administered by VADA, the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association prior to Miller's scheduled WBA/IBF/WBO heavyweight title challenge vs. Anthony Joshua. Miller has laready been denied a license to box in New York. NOTE: the WBA's resolution should NOT be considered a true suspension because the WBA is a sanctioning body, not an athletic commission, and does not decide who is permitted to box. Miller is still free to apply for a license outside of New York and also to fight for the titles of organizations other than the WBA. Miller will also be removed from the WBA rankings and was ordered to undergo random VADA drug testing at his own expense as part of the WBA resolution. The suspension is backdated to March 19th (the date of the failed test). REMEMBER WHERE YOU HEARD IT FIRST

Here is what the WBA ordered:

a. six-month "suspension" from WBA fights, from March 19th through September 19th;

b. loss of WBA rating;

c.  must register with VADA at his own expense;

d. must undergo VADA random testing, also at his own expense;

e. if he wishes to fight for a WBA title, he must present proof of successful random testing
