SALVADOR SANCHEZ RAPIDLY BECOMING A HOT COMMODITY
By G. Leon

Salvador Sanchez II, who made his successful Las Vegas debut two weeks ago, and also fought on the Vitali Klitschko-Chris Arreola undercard at the Staples Center, is now being sought after by several A-list promoters who want to sign the nephew of his late great namesake, Salvador Sanchez, the former featherweight champion of the world.

Besides bearing a striking resemblance to his late uncle, Sanchez II has recently impressed boxing insiders. On Klitschko’s undercard, he faced the normally durable veteran Trinidad Mendoza and demolished him in three rounds in front of a cheering crowd of Mexican supporters, who gave him a standing ovation.

His manager, Grant Elvis Phillips (Grant Boxing equipment), who represents the Sanchez family and is putting together a museum in memory of the legend, said of the young Sanchez, “I am so proud to represent this young man. He has improved so much since I signed him two years ago and his popularity is something to see. Whether it’s here in the US or Mexico, the people just go bananas for him. It takes us over half an hour to get him back to the dressing room after he fights, as the fans want pictures with him, autographs, and just to give him a hug. He has that charisma and charm that his uncle had that just brings the fans out. Every time he fights, the fans are lining up to buy tickets, which is a major reason he has fought on so many undercards of various promoters lately. We are looking for the right promoter and the right deal and soon the world will see the reemergence of Salvador Sanchez!”
