CRUISERWEIGHT TOURNAMENT PLANNED FOR SOUTH AFRICA

Press Release: This Saturday, cruiserweight Ran Nakash (26-1, 18 KOs) will take on Johnny Muller (10-1-2, 7 KOs) in Gauteng, South Africa, in the first round of Rodney Berman's Super 8 Cruiserweight Tournament.  In addition to Nakash and Muller, the other six fighters consist of Daniel Bruwer (22-4-1, 19 KOs), Zack Mwekassa (12-2, 11 KOs), Thabiso Mchunu (9-1, 6 KOs), Flo Simba (12-2, 10 KOs), Tshepang Mohale (8-4, 7 KOs) and Danie Venter (13-5, 10 KOs).  "After my [WBO title] fight against [Marco] Huck, I haven't stopped dreaming about when my next title fight will come," said Nakash.  "It is all I think about every day.  For me to fulfill that dream, I must win the Super 8, and that is exactly what I intend on doing." Nakash has one win since his April 2011 loss to Huck, a January  2012 shutout (80-72 across the board) over Philadelphia's Derek Bryant (20-6-1, 17 KOs).  The second round of the tournament will take place on September 22nd, with the finals culminating on November 10th.
