BOXINGTALK STAFF PREDICTIONS: ADAMEK-CHAMBERS
Compiled By John McCormick
G. Leon: Eddie Chambers via decision. Speed kills and Tomasz Adamek is not big or strong enough to nullify Chambers' pugilistic advantages.
Stephen "Breadman" Edwards: If Eddie Chambers is all there mentally he should be able to beat any heavyweight near his size. I must admit his loss to Povetkin [where Chambers faded in the second half] lingers in my mind. If Eddie can keep his composure down the stretch and if he doesn't show visible frustrations when things get tough, he should cut Tomasz Adamek up and win a decision.
John McCormick: Eddie Chambers will pick Tomasz Adamek apart and win a decisive, lopsided unanimous decision.
Scott Shaffer: Is it weak to predict a draw? Adamek has all the intangibles and has earned his warrior stripes, so I will say either a draw or Adamek by 115-113.
Doveed Linder: Adamek via decision. I actually view Chambers as the more skillful fighter and the better athlete, but I believe that Adamek's resilience and determination will overcome Chambers's natural attributes.
Michael Walters: Adamek by unanimous decision. I don't think Chambers hits hard enough to stop the Pole and that's what he'll need to do to beat him in Jersey.
Rob Soucy: Adamek will probably be as tough to beat in Newark as Chavez is in El Paso! Chambers brings good boxing skills but very little power. At heavyweight, Adamek is not a puncher himself so I fully expect this fight to go the full 12 rounds. I thought that Jason Estrada won rounds against Adamek in Newark but the judges gave most of those same rounds to Adamek, I expect a similar situation this weekend. Adamek by another controversial split decision!
