DC'S ANTOINE DOUGLAS TO TURN PRO THIS MONTH
Press Release: Twenty year-old Antoine Douglas will make his pro debut on October 27th in Burke, Virginia. Douglas, of Washington, D.C., compiled a record of 85-30 and won the National PAL, 2009 junior Olympics and Ringside championships as well as placing third in the Olympic trials. He recently signed with managers Bill Mielnicki and Kay Korona and with promoter Greg Cohen. “After the Olympic trials I didn’t feel the need to stay amateur”, said Douglas. He recently moved his training to the Elite Heat Boxing Gym in Newark, New Jersey and is excited about the future. “It was a good move to come up to New Jersey as I have no distractions and I can focus on everything,” he continued. “I have all my needs taken care and I have big goals for myself as I hope I can win world titles in multiple weight classes over the next 5-8 years.” After fighting in Berk, Virginia, Douglas is scheduled for a quick ring return when he fights on November 10th in Millville, New Jersey.
