HELENIUS TO RETURN IN FINLAND NEXT MONTH
Press Release: Heavyweight Robert Helenius (17-0, 11 KOs) will return from a shoulder injury in Helsinki, Finland on November 10th against an opponent to be announced. “It's great to be fighting again, my shoulder has healed well and I am perfectly fit,” Helenius said. “I am thrilled that my comeback will take place in Helsinki. The support was fantastic last time.” After knocking out former titlists Lamon Brewster (whose career he ended), Samuel Peter and Siarhei Liakhovich, Helenius became the European heavyweight champion in December 2011 via decision over Dereck Chisora [a verdict most observers criticized]. A shoulder injury hindered Helenius that night, but after a lengthy break, Helenius says he is now fully recovered. “Injuries are part of the game, there is nothing you can do about it, you just have to keep up your determination and continue to work hard.” Middleweight Patrick Nielsen (16-0), featherweight Andreas Evensen (16-2-1) and light heavyweight Erik Skoglund (12-0) will all appear on the same card in separate bouts-- no opponents announced yet.
