ERIK MORALES EMBARRASSED AND KO'D BY DANNY GARCIA

Danny Garcia KO4 Erik Morales... In Brooklyn, New York, Danny Garcia (25-0, 16 KOs) scored a fourth-round knockout over a [very badly washed up] Erik Morales (52-9, 36 KOs) to defend his world 140-pound championship in front of more than 11,000 fans at Barclays Center on Saturday night. Garcia was in command from the first round as he pounded Morales with punishing body shots.  The bout was stopped at the 1:23 mark of the fourth round when the 24-year-old Garcia sent the veteran Morales crashing into the ropes with a perfectly timed left hook.  [The way Morales fell onto the ring apron was sadly reminiscient of the way Rocky Marciano ended the career of a faded Joe Louis]. “That left hook, I got that from my mom,” said a jubilant Garcia after the fight.  “Her side of the family is all left handed.” The 36 year old Morales was dejected and humble after the fight.  [Sadly, Morales did not outirght retire from boxing despite the embarrassingly bad performance]. Morales said (through a translator), “Time goes by.  This is a sign that the end is near.” This was the second time Garcia beat Morales. source: showtime
