RAFAEL MARQUEZ VS. CRISTIAN MIJARES IN MEXICO THIS WEEK
Press Release: According to the WBC, ex-champions Cristian Mijares (46-6-2) and Rafael Márquez (41-7) will face each other in Mexico City next Saturday at 122 pounds. A press conference was held in which both men, plus another ex-titlist in the lighter weights, Edgar Sosa, signed lots of autographs, at a mall in Mexico City as part of the promotion. Marquez' trainer, Daniel Zaragoza, a former great fighter himself, pledged that his fighter will defeat Mijares. Forcasting a knockout victory, he stressed, "we want this fight put Rafa right back in the spotlight." Mijares' fitness trainer, Jorge Ocampo is delighted with his boxer's dedicated preparation for a big career crossroads fight. "Cristian is in great shape and in a great mood. He is ready and eager to fight. He's come through a great training camp with flying colors. The way I see it, he can even KO his rival. He's ready to win." Sosa , a flyweight with a 46-7 career mark, faces Korea's Myung-Ho Lee (15-2) in the chief support.
