GOLDEN BOY ANNOUNCES THIS WEEK'S FOX DEPORTES LINE-UP
Press Release: Cancun's Sergio Thompson aims to extend his string of early finishes to nine on October 27th, when the super featherweight faces Luis Armando Juarez in a twleve rounder in Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico to be televised on Fox Deportes in the United States and on Televisa in Mexico. Also on the card will be 140-pounders unbeaten Roberto Ortiz against Jhean Carlo Aparicio in an all-Meican bout.
The 28-year-old Sergio "Yeyo" Thompson (24-2, 22 KOs) is closing in on WBC 130-pound titlist Takahiro Aoh, but he must first dispatch of Juarez. Thompson has stopped former world titlist Jorge Linares plus Juan Ramon Solis and Carlos Claudio in the past seven months, pushing his knockout streak to eight.
A native of Argentina, 30-year-old San Miguel product Luis Armando Juarez (16-5-2, 4 KOs) is the winner of four of his last five bouts.
Roberto "Massa" Ortiz (26-0-1, 22 KOs) had a busy 2011, putting together eight wins. His opponent, 26-year old Jhean Carlo Aparicio (23-4, 17 KOs) has won seven of his last nine bouts, including three in a row.
