RESULTS FROM MADISON SQUARE GARDEN

Danny Jacobs TKO5 Chris Fitzpatrick... Daniel Jacobs continued his inspirational comeback from cancer, notching his second win in less than two months after about a year and a half out of action. Fitzpatrick's scalp bled heavily from a head clash that he accidentally initiated, but blood or no blood, Fitzpatrick wasn't a serious threat to Jacobs. After five one-sided rounds, Fitzpatrick remained on his stool rather than come out for a sixth round of punishment. Jacobs, now 25-1, got a few much-needed rounds of work in after scoring a first-round knockout in October. Fitzpatrick, 15-3, has now lost three of his last four. Jacobs is such a feel-good story, it is hard to complain about his competition level, but after one more fight at this level, fans will be pushing for Jacobs to face true contenders.
Jayson Velez TKO3 Salvador Sanchez II... Featherweight Jayson Velez, a young Puerto Rican promoted by Miguel Cotto, proved that Savador Sanchez II has little in common with his famous uncle other than a name and an afro. Velez floored Sanchez in the second and third rounds before the referee stopped the bout. Velez, now 20-0, could get a WBC title shot against Daniel Ponce De Leon. Sanchez heads back to Mexcio at 30-5-3. source for both results: showtime
