PAEZ JR. GETS TELEVISED MAIN EVENT IN MEXICO

According to the WBC, Zanfer Promotions will hold a card in Michoacan, Mexico this weekend with a main event of Jorge “Maromerito” Paez, Jr. (33-4-1) against Francisco “Paco” Fuentes (16-3) in a ten-round welterweight bout. This clash broadcast by TV Azteca. Paez, the son and namesake of a featherweight champion from Mexico, has been on a roll lately, with two wins over Omar Chavez (the less-accomplished son of Julio Cesar Chavez, Sr.) and a win over Charlie Navarro.  Fuentes' best win wame in 2011 over a shot Oscar Leon, whicvh began the four-fight winning streak he is currently riding. --Scott Shaffer
