 TKO1 Michael Medina...
Willie Nelson TKO1 Michael Medina In the Friday Night Fight co-feature bout from Foxwoods Casino, NABF Junior Middleweight Champion Willie Nelson 20-1 (12) put on the best and certainly most explosive performance of his career. Neither fighter did much for the first half of the round until Medina, who fell to 26-4(19), pressed and pinned Nelson on the ropes. Nelson fired a picture perfect right hand that landed on Medina's chin and dropped him hard. Medina beat the count but was noticeably hurt. Nelson charged at Medina and immediately threw a looping right hand that put Medina down awkwardly. As soon as Medina went down he grabbed at his right leg and the fight was stopped as he winced in pain. Medina would be carted off with his lower right leg in an air cast. There were rumblings at Friday's weigh-in that a Nelson win would set up a possible summer showdown with 2008 Olympian Demetrius Andrade.
