UNDEFEATED HORACIO GARCIA MAKING WAVES IN MEXICO

Horacio Garcia TKO5 Jonathan Perez...Mexico's 122-pound prospect Horacio "Violento" Garcia (27-0) took another important step in his career by defeating Colombia's Jonathan Perez with a fifth round technical knockout over the weekend in Ixtapa, Mexico. It was bombs away and heavy flak from the opening bell, which delighted the audience. After four rounds, the WBC's open scoring system showed Garcia leading by scores of 40-36 and 39-37 (twice). In the fifth, Garcia trapped Perez (33-10) in the neutral corner and staggered him with an overhead right. Garcia allowed Perez no no respite, raining punches in until referee, Gabriel Peralta had no choice but to to stop the fight. The Colombian quickly regained his senses and bitterly complained about the stoppage. Perez has a 15-fight unbeaten streak ended. source: wbc
