PALACIOS COMING BACK WITH SCULLY IN HIS CORNER
Press Release: Cruiserweight Francisco “The Wizard” Palacios is now training under John Scully. Palacios (21-2 with 13 KOs) returns to the squared circle after a two-year layoff to face James Johnson (28-43-4 with 17 KOs) in the eight-round main event on Saturday, September 20th at the Mela Room in his hometown of Orlando, FL.
Palacios has not fought since losing a WBC title bid in Poland to Kryzyzstof Wlodarczyk in September 2012.

Since retiring in 2001, Scully’s trained world champions Chad Dawson and Jose Rivera, as well as contenders Mike Oliver, Matt Godfrey and Ray Oliveira amongst many others.
Palacios said of his new trainer, “I think John is going to get me to the next level and I’ve wanted to make it to the top since I was an amateur. I believe he’s the kind of trainer that can help in every aspect. I have a lot of faith in him and have only heard great things. I’m excited to have him as my head trainer.”
Scully is also upbeat about working with another top tier talent.
“I’ve known Francisco (since he was an amateur). I’m looking forward to working with him. We’d crossed paths numerous times and he’s been working out at the gym I train guys out of. He’s a hard worker and I think this will be a good fit. We had a nice talk comparing philosophies and he seems on board. He has a name and a good amateur background. I am going to do my best for him and if he still has the desire to make it to the top I believe we’ll get there.”
