KLITSCHKO SUFFERS SPARRING INJURY; POSTPONES SEPTEMBER 6TH TITLE DEFENSE
By Scott Shaffer
World heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko suffered an injury in sparring earlier today and has postponed his September 6th title defense against Kubrat Pulev in Hamburg. The Klitschko camp intends to reschedule the fight as soon as it has an accurate prognosis for Klitschko's recovery from the unidentified injury. Update: The Associated Press reports that the injury is a torn bicep that will require four weeks to heal. The availability of television and the venue will also factor into the rescheduling date, but the fight seems likely to remain in Hamburg and take place before the end of the year.
