JUAREZ RETAINS WOMEN'S BANTAMWEIGHT TITLE

Mariana Juarez TKO6 Alesia  Graf... WBC female bantamweight  champion Mariana Juarez retained her title by stopping Belarusian-born Alesia "Tigress"  Graf,  via sixth-round technical in Irapuato, Mexico. Graf, who now fights out of Germany, was totally dominated She injured her leg and had to withdraw, but in any event was utterly overwhelmed by Juarez, who never gave her any breathing space, or a moment to steady herself.  Graf was hurt in the fourth round and docked a point for rabbit punching in the sixth.   The end came when Juarez (47-9-4)  landed a blow to the stomach and followed up with an unanswered right to the head. At this point, Graf dropped her hands and turned away, signaling surrender. Graf, a force on the international scene since 2005 falls to 29-7 and at age 37, her prime is likely over. source: wbc
