ROMAN WIN SETS UP POSSIBLE TITLE SHOT VS. BERCHELT

Miguel Roman TKO4 Aristides Perez ...In front of 9,000 fans in his hometown of Juarez, Mexico, junior lightweight Miguel "Mickey" Roman overwhelmed Colombia's Aristides Perez in four torrid one sided rounds. Roman tool control in the second round. Perez tried to fight back, but a big right hook to the side of his head visibly hurt him in the third.  Another couple of big rights wobbled Perez and he was saved from further damage by the bell. In the fourth, a left hook to the head and a right to the body from Roman put Perez on his back foot.  Roman began firing on all cylinders, landing a cascade of punches. Referee Rocky Burke called a halt to the fight. Roman (59-12) is the WBC #1 contender, so a title challenge vs. Miguel Berchelt (who also won on Saturday) seems likely for him. Perez is now 31-11-2. source: wbc
