How's everything going in preparation for your upcoming fight with Javier Gallo on August 18th? Everything is going great, I'm going to be ready to go. I don't really know too much about him because the only fights we could find on him were from a long time ago. I know he's a shorter guy, but I'm going to be ready for anything.
GL: Your last several fights have gone the distance. Gallo is experienced, but he's been stopped six times. Do you see this fight going the distance?
Christan Carto: "I'm just going to go do my thing. I'm not looking for the knockout, but if it presents itself I'm going to take it and if I have him hurt I'm going to be looking to get him out of there."
GL: How do you feel about fighting at the Ocean?
CC: "It's great. It's going to be a great card with Jesse Hart and Bryant Jennings, there's a lo of Philly talent on this show so it's going to be a lot of fun."
GL: This is another Top Rank card that you're fighting on, do you plan on aligning with them promotionally?
CC: "I leave that to my brother and my dad. I just train and fight, I let them handle that."
GL: This is going to be your third fight this year, how do you feel about your activity this year?
CC: "It's good. I was able to have a little decent rest after my last fight so I'm happy with that."
GL: Is this going to be your last 8? Will you be taking it to 10's in 2019?
CC: "To be honest with you Greg, I'm not sure. I just fight, I leave all that other stuff to my brother and father to handle. If they feel it's time for me to go to tens than that's what we'll do."
GL: Where do you see yourself in a year from now? What are your goals between now and next summer?
CC: "To keep fighting, hopefully get a couple of TV fights and keep improving. As long as I keep improving I know I'm going to get a fight for a title. Right now I"m just trying to take it one fight at time, I'm not in a rush, I'm just trying to get better with each fight and improve."
GL: Closing thoughts?
CC: "Thank you for the interview, make sure you come out to the Ocean Resort and Casino on August 18th because it's going to be a great night of boxing."
