EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: KASSIM OUMA
By G. Leon

GL:  What's the latest and greatest with Kassim Ouma?  "I've been training and I've been just quiet.  I know the world almost forgot about Kassim Ouma, but I'm young, I'm training and I'm looking for a fight like this guy Corneilius Bundrage.

GL:  Tell us what we can expect to from you in the ring on March 28th, when you meet Corneilus Bundrage?.

Kassim Ouma:  On March 28th, everybody knows he's the K-9, but Kassim Ouma quit smoking a long time ago, so he won't be able to smell anything.  That dog won't be able to smell.

GL:  Have you been watching him on tape, and what do you think of him as a fighter?

KO:  He's a tough guy, he's hard.  I've been watching him, he's aggressive, but I'm bringing same thing too.

GL:  What are you bringing to him?

KO:  I'm bringing heat, to see if he can handle that heat.  I'm going to fight with him.

GL:  What does a victory over Corneilius Bundrage mean to you, what does it do for your career?

KO:  Bundrage is a guy that has been active more than I have, because last year I only fought one time and lost.  He's been active, he's been doing good, he's been on a TV show.  People know him, when I talk about who I'm going to fight they say, oh K-9.  It's good that people say that.  I'm really excited to go fight him, and get a victory over him.  It's good for my career, he's a tough guy.

GL:  Do you feel comfortable at 154?

KO:  Yes, I feel comfortable at 154, and I'm looking forward to the feeling of winning.  I'm looking forward to doing it.  Whatever happens I'm just there.

GL:  After the last fight that you had, how important is it for you to look good in this fight.  Do you feel that your career is on the line?

KO:  My career is on the line, for a lot of people I have to lay it down, I have to put it out there.  I have to come and do it once again, and I'm a true performer.

GL:  The Dream on worldwide, a long way from home.

KO:  A long way from home, but I've got to do it for my fans in my country.  I'm ready.

GL:  Closing thoughts.

KO:  I want to say I love you to the BoxingTalk fans, God Bless.  To those fans in Uganda, the more you you hate, the more I do it.  You think I'm gone, but I'm still here, and I love the BoxingTalk fam, what what.
