LOUIS TURNER SPARRING WITH CORY SPINKS
Press Release: Middleweight Louis “Knock” Turner, currently serving as Cory Spinks' sparring partner, will appear on Friday, March 28, 2008 at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom in a battle against Mexican veteran Jesus Valverde, 21-14, in a scheduled eight round bout. In his last bout, Turner, 11-1, lost a war against Angel Hernandez. Speaking from his training camp in St. Louis, Turner discussed his return to the ring. “I’m thrilled to be fighting back in Chicago. The fans loved my fight against [Hernandez] but I could have made the fight a little easier and took the decision." Valverde’s thirteen year pro career includes battles with world champions Kermit Cintron and Carlos Quintana. The show will be headlined by a twelve round light heavyweight bout between Tavoris Cloud, 17-0 against Mike Wood, 19-6-1. The Aragon Ballroom is located at 1106 W. Lawrence Ave. on the north side of Chicago. Tickets can be obtained in advance through Ticketmaster.
