Ivan Montiel spoke briefly with WBA light heavyweight champion during Friday's virtual press conference and asked him about his decision win over world super middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez:  Do you think that you could’ve possibly stopped Canelo in the late rounds? And if you get a rematch against Canelo will you go for the knockout?

 

Dmitriy Bivol: I can’t say that I could have stopped him or knocked him out. I didn’t do that. But what I can say is that maybe in the rematch I can take some of the things that worked well for me [in the first fight] and capitalize on them. I would try to use those things more and maybe it will work to make the fight more in my favor.  I cannot say that I could’ve knocked him out or even knocked him down, it’s just not something that I can say now.
