Antonio Tarver to box Frank Mir

Former MMA champion Frank Mir says he has agreed to box 52 year-old Antonio Tarver (pictured) on April 17th. Mir tweeted, "I am a competitor. I have been all my life. I take on challenges to grow and better myself as a person. I have always wanted to test myself in the boxing ring so when this opportunity arose I jumped on it. See you April 17th, Antonio Tarver." With Tarver tweeting a video showing that his contract is with Triller, that means Tarver-Mir will be part of the pay-per-view broadcast featuring Jake Paul, an 0-1 cruiserweight vs. another retired MMA star, Ben Asken.

Mir, age 41, is a former two-time UFC heavyweight champion who last fought in 2019.

Tarver has not fought since testing positive for a banned substance following a 2015 draw vs. Steve Cunningham.
