The title was vacated by the true world featherweight champion, Amanda Serrano. Nicolson fought a disciplined, smart and conservative fight. Mahfoud was dominated from start to finish thanks to Nicolson’s powerful and accurate jab, which prevented the Dane from retaliating. The official scorecards were a reflection of the one-sided combat, 100-90 (twice) and 99-91, all for Nicolson. With this victory, Nicolson improves her record to 10-0 with 1 knockout, while Mahfoud is now 14-2 with 3 knockouts.
