According to WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman, Vanes Martyrosian is undergoing treatment for squamous cell carcinoma cancer. Martirosyan's pro career spanned from 2005-2018. He wound up with a record of 36-4-1, retiring after a loss to middleweight champion Gennadiy Golovkin.
