WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol arrived this week in Uzbekistan to start his preparation for the next defense of his World Boxing Association (WBA) light heavyweight super championship. [It is heavily rumored that Bivol's next fight will be in May against world super middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez but there has been no official announcement]. Bivol, from Russia, posted pictures on social media in which he is seen climbing the Uzbek mountains. The 31 year-old Bivol was born in Kyrgyzstan but has Russian citizenship. In his most recent bout, Bivol defeated Umar Salamov by unanimous decision in a dominant performance that saw him win almost every round.
