Boxingtalk salutes Danny Roman on his retirement

Boxingtalk salutes former two-belt champion Danny “The Babyface Assassin” Roman who announced his retirement at the age of 32. Roman tweeted, "I am officially announcing my retirement from boxing. Thank you to my team, promoters, sponsors, media outlets and fans all around the world for your love and support these last 12 years. All glory to God." If this really is it, Roman leaves with a career mark of 29-4-1, with a solid reign at 122 pounds consisting of wins over Shun Kubo, Ryu Matsumoto, Moises Flores, Gavin McDonnell and a unification win vs. TJ Doheny (some of these fights were for the WBA regular title). Roman lost his titles to Murodjon Akhmadaliev, won two more, then lost a title challenge to Stephen Fulton. Boxingtalk wishes Roman a fulfilling and happy post-boxing life.
