I told my family if I lost that is my last fight,” said former three-division champion Jorge Linares, revealing his intention to retire following his defeat to Jack Catterall on Saturday.  Arguably the uncrowned world champion in the 140-pound division, Caterall defeated Linares by unanimous decision in Liverpool, England. Caterall carried the scorecards by 117-111 and 116-112 (twice). Caterall is now 28-1 for his career, with his second-straight win since he lost a very debateable decision in a world title bid vs. Josh Taylor in 2022. Linares lost his fourth straight and steps away from the sport with world titles at 126, 130 and 135 pounds and a record of 47-9.
