Chris Colbert wants to fight Shakur Stevenson

Chris "Prime Time" Colbert, the undefeated junior lightweight who holds a WBA interim title, stopped by the Last Stand Podcast with Brian Custer to talk about his hopes for a blockbuster fight against former WBO featherweight title holder Shakur Stevenson and other matters. Here is what Colbert had to say:

On Shakur Stevenson:

"He is a bad boy, and me and him would be a hell of a fight, but I’m going to take that victory y’all know that! It’s win by any means necessary, I don’t care about looking cute, clean, nothing. It’s win, all I know is win."

On the lightweight division:

"That’s a super stacked division, that division is hotter than the Heat that play in Miami. I feel like right now Teofimo Lopez [the world champion] is that guy. Not only the way he beat Vasiliy Lomachenko with the confidence, I just feel he’s really that guy right now. I don’t think Ryan Garcia can handle him, I don’t think Devin Haney would lose to Ryan Garcia, but then again I don’t think Devin Haney can beat Teofimo. And Tank [Gervonta Davis] don’t be disciplined enough."

Colbert on fighting for the 130-pound world title:

"I’m ready now, give me the right time to train to make my camp, and make it to make mone,y and to make sense and I’m ready…100%!"
