Christian Carto looks to stay perfect on Top Rank Philly Card

Greg Leon: How has everything gone in training camp? What can we expect to see from you against Edwin Rodriguez (9-4) on Saturday night?

Christian Carto: "Camp went great, I feel great and I'm looking forward to being able to showcase my skills on such a great card. This is going to be a great card all around, there's so many talented fighters on the card."

GL: How do you feel about fighting on card being promoted by Top Rank, one of the greatest promoters of all time?

CC: "It's exciting, but I'm not really thinking about it too much. I'm just thinking about what I got to do which is fighting good and looking good."

GL: What do you know about Rodriguez?

CC: "I know he's a counter puncher and he's a pretty good fighter, a better fighter than his record indicates, but I feel good about what I'm going to be able to do in there."

GL How do you build on you last win over James Gordon Smith?

CC: "I work hard in every camp and I look to improve with every fight. I think Rodriguez and Smith are two different fighters, so you'll see some new and different things, but not too much."

GL: What are you hoping a victory on Saturday night leads to?

CC: "I'm not sure, I'm just focused on getting the win."

GL: Other than victory, do you have a prediction?

CC: "No."

GL: After starting off 11-0 with 11 KO's, you've had three decision wins in a row, and as long as you get the victory, you don't care if you get the knocout, correct?

CC: "That's right because when I was getting those knockouts, I wasn't looking for them and I won't be looking for one on Saturday night either, if it comes it comes."

GL: How do you feel about all of the exposure that comes with being part of a card like this?

CC: "It's going to be cool. I haven't been thinking about that too much, I've been focused on making sure I take care of my business and look good, but I know there's going to be a lot of people watching."

GL: Who do you like in the Jennings-Dawejko fight?

CC: "I don't know, I'm actually friends with both of them and I hope that they both have a good fight."

GL: Closing thoughts?

CC: "I want to thank my trainer Mickey Rosati, my manager Frankie, my dad, and tune in on Saturday night because it's going to be a great night of boxing."
