Commey-Beltran set, winner to face victor of Lopez-Nakatani eliminator

Adames to face Patrick Day in next fight

Former WBO lightweight champion Ray Beltran (36-8-1, 22 KOs) will get another crack at a world title when he challenges IBF lightweight champion Richard Commey (28-2, 25 KOs) at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California. Commey (pictured) won the vacant title om February but suffered a hand injury in the process. The winner of the Commey-Beltran bout is expected to face the winner of the July 19th IBF elimination clash between undefeated Teofimo Lopez and Masayoshi Nakatani. Boxingtalk has been informed that terms have been agreed to for this two-fight deal which Top Rank hopes will conclude with the IBF title around Lopez's waist to set up a mega-fight with WBA/WBO lightweight champion Vasiliy Lomachenko

In other news Boxingalk has also understands that undefeated junior middleweight up and comer Carlos Adames (17-0, 14 KOs) will face Patrick Day (17-2-1, 6 KOs) in his next bout. A date is expected to be announced soon.
