Cuban boxers go 6-0 in Mexico

The return of Cuban boxing to the professional ranks, after a 60-year ban, occurred over the weekend in Palenque of the San Marcos National Fair, in Aguascalientes, Mexico. Of the six participants, all won convincingly, five of them by way of knockout, while one won on the judges’ scorecards: Two-time Olympic gold medal winner Arlen López, campaigning at light heavyweight, knocked out Mexico's Fernando Galván &-5) in the first round... Two-time Olympic gold medal winner Roniel Iglesias, fighting as a junor middleweight, won by knockout in two rounds over Mexico's Brandón Pérez (7-2-1)... Feliciano Hernández won by way of knockout in three rounds, beating Mexico's Juan Carlos Raygoza (17-21-3)... Osvel Caballero also knocked out Jhosman Reyes, a 3-3 super featherweight, in four rounds... Lázaro Álvarez, a three-time Olmypic bronze nmedal winner, won by unanimous decision over six rounds against Mexico's Francisco Mercado (6-2) at junior welterweight...  Julio César de la Cruz, a double Olympic champion and five-time world amateur champion, knocked out Colombia's Devis Casseres (27-16) in two rounds at cruiserweight.
