DAZN has confirmed a deal with UK boxing promoter Boxxer, which will see the promotion deliver major fight nights on the platform in the coming months, including a pay–per–view event scheduled for later this year. The first event will be the rematch between Troy Williamson and Callum Simpson on Saturday, August 8th at the First Direct Bank Arena in Leeds, England. The bout follows their first meeting in December which saw Troy Williamson flooring Simpson four times in the tenth round before forcing a stoppage to secure a TKO victory, winning the British, Commonwealth and European super middleweight titles in the process. Further details regarding the undercard for the Williamson vs Simpson II event will be announced shortly.

Williamson said: “It’s about time they got themselves ready. And, believe me, they have made a big mistake by activating this rematch. This fight cannot come soon enough. Callum Simpson: I’ve beaten you once, and on August 8th, I will beat you again.”

 

Simpson said: ““I can’t wait for August 8. Leeds is going to be bouncing. Troy had his night, but I’m coming to take back what’s mine. I’m fitter, sharper and more determinedthan ever. He’s done a lot of talking since the first fight, but now he’s got to back it up. I’m ready to settle the score and remind people who Callum Simpson is.”
