Promoter Luis DeCubas Sr., a forty-year veteran in the sport, has been nominated for induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, a milestone in his career. Known for rejuvenating the career of Hall of Fame inductee Roberto Duran, DeCubas has tirelessly promoted the sport, nurtured the careers of numerous fighters and contributed to the growth and development of professional boxing. He is best known for promoting some of the top fighters to ever come out of Cuba, where he was born. DeCubas continues to make a significant impact on boxing, still actively promoting under the banner of Warriors Boxing. His devotion to the sport remains constant, and his passion for discovering and nurturing boxing talent is still relevant to this day.
"It is a tremendous honor to be nominated for induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. I have dedicated my life to this sport, and I am humbled by this recognition from my peers and the boxing community," expressed Luis DeCubas Sr. “When I first got into this sport in the early 80’s, I never imagined it would lead to an International Boxing Hall of Fame nomination. It’s an amazing honor just to be on the ballot and I want to thank my wife, my family and everyone who’s helped me get to this point in my career.”
