WBO president Paco Valcárcel says that his organization's middleweight champion, Demtrius Andrade must choose between a super middleweight interim title opportunity or a mandatory defense at middleweight: "WBO cannot wait any longer on whether Andrade faces #1 super middleweight, Zach Parker for the interim 168-pound title. Therefore, an Andrade vs. Zhanibek Alimknhanuly purse bid will take place at WBO office on January 14th, 12:00 pm (noon)."
