Eleider Alvarez KO7 Michael Seals... At the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York, former WBO light heavyweight champion Eleider Alvarez returned from nearly a year of inactivity with a spectacular knockout of Michael Seals. Inactive since losing his title to Sergey Kovalev last February, the Colombian looked plenty rusty for six rounds of a dull fight. In the seventh round, however, Alvarez erased the bad taste from the fans' mouths with a single right hand that put Seals to sleep. The punch is the year's first entry into the knockout of the year sweepstakes. Alvarez is now 25-1, while the 38 year-old Seals falls to 24-3. This fight was essentially a Joe Smith eliminator, with Alvarez now slated to fight the New Yorker in his next outing. (Smith defeated Jesse Hart last week). source: espn
