Gabriela Sánchez W10 Tamara Demarco... Gabriela “La Bonita” Sánchez (13-6) captured the interim WBC flyweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Argentina’s Tamara Demarco (13-9-1) in Puebla, Mexico. Fighting in front of her home crowd, Sanchez showcased composure and control throughout the bout. After a measured start, she began to assert herself in the third round, using her pace and accuracy to take command of the fight. As the rounds went on, she established dominance, landing the cleaner combinations and forcing her opponent to clinch in order to slow the action. Despite a few tense moments, including a brief loss of balance, Sánchez never lost control of the contest. After ten rounds, the judges’ scorecards awarded her a clear and well-earned unanimous decision. With this victory, Sanchez will get a push from the WBC to fight the full WBC and undisputed world flyweight champion, Gabriela Fundora.
