WBC flyweight champion Ibeth Zamora is all set to make her ring return this weekend, after nearly two years out of action. Zamora (30-6, 12 KOs) will return in a non-title eight-round contest against Edith Flores (7-15) on Friday, with the fight taking place in Ciudad Nezahualcoyotl, Mexico. Zamora won the WBC flyweight title back in 2018 with a victory over Melissa McMorrow, before going on to defend it against Chaoz Minowa. Zamora has also won a world title at junior flyweight, and has been regarded as one of the best female fighters of the last ten years. She now turns her attention to Flores, who last November defeated Alondra Prado Nava before facing Jessica Nery Plata in June )Flores was announced as the loser but because of coronavirus restrictions, some sources do not count it as an official result). If she can defeat Flores on Friday, Zamora will then look to secure big fights in 2021, as she aims to unify the flyweight division.
