Introducing BKFC's Rico DiSciullo

Bare knuckles fighter Rico DiSciullo wants to keep the great times rolling. After smashing his way to 2-0 in the BKFC squared circle with a first-round finish over Stash Kuykendall on Dec. 20th at the sold-out Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, the 135 pounderfrom Peabody, Massachusetts is eyeing a quick turnaround — ideally at BKFC 86 on Jan. 17th, when the organization returns to the iconic Mohegan Sun Arena for the fifth time. “I want to jump on that card really badly,” DiSciullo says. “This is such a crazy sport where cuts and banged-up hands are so common that the stars really have to align to compete twice in a short amount of time, and that’s exactly what I want to do. Fighting isn’t just a job — this is my life — so I want to be as active as possible in the ring.”

DiSciullo had a good mixed martial arts career before transitioning to BKFC. A long-time fixture on the New England MMA scene, DiSciullo’s 11-2 record includes seven wins by stoppage and bouts on The Ultimate Fighter and Contender Series. DiSciullo believes that’s nothing compared to what he can accomplish in the world of bare knuckle fighting. “I really believe that this format of fighting was made for me, and I truly believe that I could be one of the best on the planet at this. I’m built different,” he says.  “I belong here, and I believe it’s just a matter of time until I’m competing for a BKFC World Championship.”
