Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia and the most powerful man in boxing, has thrown his support behind a young Japanese featherweight who has yet to turn pro. Alalshikh tweeted, "I am thrilled to welcome Reito Tsutsumi as our newest brand ambassador for The Ring. He will make his pro debut on May 2nd in Times Square [in New York City] and this is just the beginning for this rising star. I will always make sure to support him personally and through the ring and stay behind him until he becomes a world-champion and become a source of pride for Japan and Asia." Tsutsumi has a listed amateur record of 26-2 on Boxrec, but his amateur record could actually be superior.
