Jake Paul will fight former middleweight title holder Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Here is what Paul had to say about the match-up: "Five years ago, I stepped into the ring for my pro debut after one amateur fight, and every fight since has been a step towards becoming world champion. I just defeated the baddest man on the planet [Mike Tyson] and broke multiple records, and now I’m going against a former world champion with 54 wins who [reigning world super middleweight champion Saul] Canelo [Alvarez] could barely beat [in 2017]. Chávez Jr. is Mexican, but I, El Gallo De Dorado, 'Mexi-can' knock him out. On Saturday, June 28th, live on DAZN pay-per-view, I will defeat Julio and make Chávez Sr. proud in ways Jr. never has. Viva La Puerto Rico." Chavez Jr. is 54-6-1. He was WBC middleweight champion from 2011-2012 but has experienced substance abuse issues in recent years. Last year, he ended a two-and-a-half year absence by defeating a novice, Uriah Hall, in a cruiserweight six rounder. Paul is 11-1 coming off a huge boxing event in which he defeated 58 year-old boxing legend Mike Tyson over eight two-minute rounds.
