According to promoter Frank Warren, British heavyweight contender Joe Joyce (pictured) is recovering from a broken wrist. A Warren press release mentioned in passing that, “Joe broke his wrist and I’m hoping he will be available to fight late April or early May against a ranked opponent in London. We want to get him out and keep him busy. He is number one with the WBO and he is watching the Oleksandr Usyk situation with interest." Joyce got a signature win in 2020, stopping Daniel Dubois who was being touted as the future of the heavyweight division. In 2021, Joyce only fought wonce, a good win over fringe contender Carlos Takam.
