Former three-division title holder, Jorge Linares (47-6, 29 KOs) will travel to Russia to face Zaur Abdullaev (14-1, 8 KOs) on February 22nd in Yekaterinburg in a WBC lightweight eliminator. The venue is the RCC Boxing Academy, and the winner of Linares and Abdullaev will be in an excellent position, poised to face [WBC regular] champion Devin Haney. Linares, who has had title reigns at featherweight, super featherweight and lightweight, is now 36, and recently lost an entertaining fight against Haney. Abdullaev, who also lost to Haney, defeated former WBC champion Dejan Zlaticanin by decision in his last fight.
